Ways To Give
There are many ways to give through the Community Foundation. Some of the most common methods that donors choose include:
Cash
Cash is the easiest way to contribute. Gifts of cash should be paid to the Foundation accompanied by a written document (letter or other written instruction) signed by the donor indicating the Fund to which the contribution should be credited.
Check
Checks should be made payable to Schuylkill Area Community Foundation. The specific fund for which the check is intended should be noted in the bottom left corner of the check.
Credit Card
Credit card donations should be made by using PayPal, a secure and convenient online donation process. On the PayPal payment form, donor can add special instructions such as designation to a specific fund, in memory/honor of (name), and privacy preference.
Stocks
Stocks may be donated to the Foundation as a charitable gift.
Bequests
A Charitable Bequest is the most common form of planned giving. By including a Charitable Bequest in a will, donors are able to plan and designate everlasting gifts. The bequest can take the form of a specific amount of money or a "residual bequest," where all or a portion of the donor's estate is directed to the Foundation.
Retirement Plans
Donors can use assets held in an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), 401(k), 403(b), or a similar account, to start a fund or to contribute to an existing fund at the time of death.
Life Insurance & Annuities
Donors can designate the Foundation as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or annuities. This gift can be all or a percentage of the policy. There is no cost, and the beneficiary designation can be changed at any time.
