Andrew Neidlinger Memorial Fund

Andrew Neidlinger was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School Class of 2005. He was diagnosed with leukemia in October 2005 and he died on October 7, 2006 at the young age of 19. He was a kind person, a leader and always willing to help others. Andrew participated in Teens Against Tobacco, SADD, Spanish Club, Shop Club, Golden Bears football and track.
The award will be distributed annually to a student of the graduating class of Mahanoy Area High School who has been a member of the school’s football team (either actively as a player, or as a substitute sitting on the bench), who has a 2.5, or better, scholastic average, and who plans to enter a medically oriented post-secondary program at an accredited institution of learning. Preference shall be given first to a member of the school's football team, second to a member of the high school's cheerleader squad, and lastly to other members of the graduating class.
