North Schuylkill Volunteer Home Care Fund
Established 1978
Originally established in 1978 as the Ashland Area Visiting Nurse Association Fund, this fund augmented the costs of providing home nursing to the residents of the Ashland area. However, in 1994, the organization ceased its activities. The foundation sought a replacement organization with similar goals and, in 1996, began to distribute the earnings to the North Schuylkill Team of Volunteer Home Care. In 2005, the Board of Directors of SACF formally changed the name of this fund to North Schuylkill Volunteer Home Care Fund to accurately define the objectives of the fund.
Distributions from this fund are made to Diakon Volunteer Home Care for services in the North Schuylkill area.
