Tyler John Sincavage was born 9/22/06 a healthy baby boy. A week later after having seizures, taking him to multiple hospitals and many medical tests he was diagnosed with MoyaMoya disease. MoyaMoya is a very rare, progressive blood vessel disease that causes strokes. We spent weeks and months at a time in the hospital. During his first 2 years he underwent a major brain surgery in Boston and a Liver Transplant at AI Dupont. Tyler’s dad was his organ donor. By age 5 he underwent a tracheostomy and was on 24/7 ventilation, he also had a feeding tube and was in a wheelchair. Through all this Tyler continued to show us his courage, strength and most importantly his smile. Tyler’s smile touched many lives from family, friends, caregivers and strangers.
Even with all his life sustaining equipment we never held him back. Tyler enjoyed 4 trips to Florida visiting Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios. One trip being his Make A Wish. He was able to get on more rides then you would think. He enjoyed meeting all the Characters who treated him like a celebrity. He enjoyed a number of vacations to Delaware beaches at his aunt and uncles house. He also visited Niagara Falls, Assateague Island, Knoebel’s Grove , Hershey Park, Sesame Place, Lake Tobias, Ice Capades, Horse Races, went on a Dolphin watch and pirate cruise, he rode horses, went on a tethered hot air balloon ride, attended hockey and baseball games and got to meet the Philadelphia Phillies on their home field. Tyler also completed and medaled in 2 assistive triathlons. He enjoyed any adventure. We watched many movies but his favorite was Despicable Me. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his cousins, friends and companion dog Maggie.
Tyler attended the Schuylkill IU #29 since pre-school. The teachers, therapists and children grew to love Tyler’s smiling personality. His classmates showed us the pureness of a child’s heart just treating him like any other child. We want to keep his smile alive in hoping to put a smile on someone else’s face. All Tyler ever wanted was attention just a simple hello or smile would brighten his day. Although he could never walk or talk we all saw the love in his eyes and his smile. We were lucky to have our Tyler 8 years, 8 months and 21 days. Tyler passed 6/12/15.
