Schuylkill Area Community Foundation continues to become an increasingly important source of funding to enhance the quality of life for Schuylkill County.

The competitive grant process allows county nonprofit organizations to apply for a portion of SACF’s available resources. The grants are awarded from the Unrestricted Funds and Field of Interest Funds, and applications are accepted in the following funding areas:

Animal Welfare - programs that foster the bond between animals and humans so as to improve the quality of life, as specified in the Dr. Gail D. Mackey, VMD, DABVP Animal Fund.

Arts & Culture - projects that encourage artistic creativity and enjoyment of the performing arts and cultural programming for the community

Diversity - programs and activities in our schools and communities that will foster and enhance cultural appreciation, understanding and unity.

Education - projects to enhance the educational experience for persons of any age that encourage literacy and promote lifelong learning skills

Environment - projects or activities relating to, but not limited to, conservation, agricultural programs, resource protection and energy/renewable resources

Health & Wellness - projects that promote the physical and emotional health of the community, including medical services, counseling, fitness and wellness programs

Human Services - projects or programs whose purposes are to give aid, comfort, support or assistance to children or adults
